Specialist public relations agency Tarleton Communications has made its first ever hire following two years of sustained growth.
Tarleton has appointed Tom Horn (pictured, right) as account executive following a series of major client wins and continued organic growth.
Horn is a former Radio News Hub journalist who has previously worked for Sony Electronics on pan-European PR campaigns across their healthcare portfolio. He joins the agency only two years after it was set up to service the unique needs innovation centric organisations in technical and regulated sectors.
Tarleton is a specialist public relations agency based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It services clients across the life sciences, engineering, technology and research sectors and provides a full suite of public relations services including traditional media and press management, specialist content production and public affairs consultancy.
Many start-up agencies use freelancers and outsourcing to scale, but Tarleton took the approach of delivering work completely in house to maintain control over quality and confidentiality. The agency has a small but impressive client roster that includes international SMEs as well as Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
Thomas Averre, founder and managing director at Tarleton Communications, said “After two years of flying solo, this marks a huge milestone. I’m really excited for what this means for the agency and our clients. Tom is very talented and will bring ideas, skills and a fresh outlook to the business.
“We are already working with some of the most innovative SMEs in Europe as well as professional services firms, universities and science parks. I know Tom will help us add even more value to our clients as a core member of the team.”
Horn added: “I’m delighted to be joining Tarleton as its first major hire. I’m constantly impressed by how innovation-driven our clients are and the difference they are making. I’m looking forward to working with our clients to reach and influence others through top tier media placement as well as through broadcast and alternative media strategies.
“The sector landscape is evolving and so undoubtedly our approach will as well; I look forward to drawing on my international and radio experiences to augment Tarleton’s existing capabilities.”
