Wejo, the General Motors-backed vehicle tech and data firm has partnered with fellow Manchester firm, Flow Creative on a new animated film.

Flow has released the first in a series of case study films, in order to showcase how Wejo connects markets with consumers, by using behavioural data.

“It was a pleasure to work with the Wejo team and help bring this story to life. The work they do is cutting edge, innovative stuff and I have to admit was something I knew nothing about before we started to work together,” said Flow’s Creative Director, Karl Doran.

“The challenge for our team was to tell a story of some complexity in a way that was easy to digest and enjoyable to watch. We created a visually striking, contemporary look for the film using a combination of 2D and 3D animation, and kept a sense of fun and playfulness in the voice-over script and character designs.”

The animation focuses on its offering for US based ‘big box retailers’, and explains how they enable them to understand the buying habits of customers through their connected vehicle data.

“We challenged Flow to create us a fun, disruptive and memorable case study film that would tell a very complex story in a way that is beautifully simple,” added  Julian Gratton, SVP Brand, Marketing Strategy and Content at Wejo.

“From script to final animation they have delivered us a compelling piece of content that will ensure Wejo’s SaaS-based Smart Mobility for Good solutions, powered by connected vehicle data, are effectively communicated to retail professionals and will hopefully be the first of many films like this that we create together.”
