Following rapid growth, Twinkl Educational Publishing has opened a 20,000 sq ft second office in Sheffield.

The company, which provides an online catalogue of over 625,000 resources and services for schools and educators, has purchased the building at Hallamshire Business Park on Napier Street.

Over 90 team members have moved to the new building, with others continuing to work from the company’s headquarters at the nearby Wards Exchange on Ecclesall Road,

In 2014, the Twinkl team first moved to Wards Exchange with 45 members. Twinkl now has over 4.6 million members in over 196 countries and employs over 500 people across its offices in Sheffield, Manchester and Australia.

Jonathan Seaton, Co-founder and CEO of Twinkl, said: “It is always humbling and overwhelming to think how far we have come. We are so lucky to have such a talented and passionate team here in Sheffield and across the world.

“Milestones and achievements like this allow us to reflect on how many educators and schools we have been able to reach and help globally, which is what really matters to us.

Jonathan started the company with his wife Susie from a spare bedroom in 2010. Over the last 12 months, resources were downloaded over 122 million times from the website.

The team plans to continue building on this reach and to strengthen its position as a leading edTech provider.

“We are eager to keep building a community of experts and educators that can make a difference to teachers, schools and children everywhere,” said Jonathan.

“Although we’re growing rapidly, the team’s relentless passion means Twinkl still feels like a startup, with the same fast-paced, innovative and friendly atmosphere as when we started. I know it’s a cliche, but we have always been like one big family.”
