North West pandemic start ups hope to bring ‘new era’ to elearning

Manchester-based elearning company, thirst, and Chorley marketing and design agency OnyxPDA, both launched during the pandemic, are hoping to bring a new era of learning to the “new workplace.”

Launched in 2022, thirst claims to be “an online learning platform created for the modern learner.” It thirst allows each user to choose what, how, and when they want to learn, and by using AI technology, the platform presents personalised content to each user based on their likes, dislikes, and previous content consumed.

The SaaS-based learning platform offers users transparent pricing, easy on-boarding and access to 1000s of pieces of learning content from all over the web. Users can also create their own content in various formats to share knowledge on any device, anywhere.

OnyxPDA, which launched in 2020, has provided thirst with marketing, communication, and design services to in order to help mould the product to the modern, flexible workplace and launch it into the e-learning marketplace.

Despite employing less than 30 staff between the two companies, they are now hoping to make a big splash in the crowded elearning space. Fred Thompson, CEO at thirst learning, said: “As a society, we’re always on the go, and now the workplace and education are becoming more flexible, it’s time e-learning did too.”

thirst is currently offering a 14-day trial of its new elearning platform, and promises no sales calls will be made, or credit card details taken.
