Two freelance filmmakers have teamed up to launch a new video production company in Manchester.
The new company, The Eastern Blok, has been founded by freelancers Bogdan Niculescu and Pawel Warchol with the name drawing on their roots from Eastern Europe.
After collaborating on several projects as freelancers and experience working with clients including the University of Manchester, the duo decided to launch their own company with an ambition to bolster services for their clients.
The Eastern Blok will cover a range of services from pre-production, which includes concepts and storyboarding, to production and editing.
Creative Director and co-founder of the production company, Bogdan Niculescu, said: “From the East to the West, we do things differently.”
He added that the business has been forged in Manchester and has been supported by local businesses.
“Colony Coworking Space acted as our business incubator, not only giving us access to their knowledge but also allowing us to tap into their amazing network of members – in Colony we came up with the name and in Colony we signed our founders agreement.
“It’s definitely more than a coworking space for us. And leading from that – our entire branding & website design was created in collaboration with Design Wellness which is a brilliant agency – neighbours of ours in Colony.”
