Airtasker, a community marketplace, which raised $33m AUD from investors last year, is preparing for its UK launch, with Leeds’ Journey further.

The company helps people outsource tasks, find local services or complete flexible tasks to earn money, online or via mobile. Founded in 2012, it now has a community of 1.8m in Australia.

Journey Further won a competitive pitch to drive user acquisition via pay per click, programmatic and paid social campaigns. It will initially focus on London, with open beta testing planned for the first part of the year. The platform is expected to launch fully in the second quarter of 2018.

“Choosing the right agency to support our launch in the UK was crucial for us. In Journey Further we discovered a like-minded team of digital experts, dedicated to driving performance and growing our community into something amazing,” explained Lucas London, UK general manager at Airtasker.

“We look forward to working in collaboration with the Journey Further team as we embark on this next stage in Airtasker’s mission of empowering people to realise the full value of their skills and help millions of people get more done.”

Robin Skidmore, CEO and co-founder at Journey Further, added:

“It’s incredibly exciting to be launching a community which will change the way Londoners think and behave. Airtasker are extremely ambitious so culturally, this partnership is the perfect fit. We have the common experience of being fast-growing startups and share the core value of transparency, which I am confident will see the UK mirror Airtasker’s success in Australia.”
