Polar ExpressCube Creative has retained the leisure attraction Polar Express’ Christmas PR and marketing account seeing off a number of rival agencies, including US agencies, to secure the business.

The account for Polar Express’ seasonal business is valued at £100k plus and the work has been commissioned  from the States.

Cube Creative ran the Polar Express launch campaign in 2012 which saw over £1m in ticket sales taken by the US-based operator. But Cube was still required to re-pitch this year.

The two UK attractions  can be found in Dartmoor, Devon and Weardale in County Durham.

The Polar Express will operate from Weardale Railway in County Durham and Dartmoor Railway in Devon throughout November and December complete with Santa and various seasonal characters.

The Polar Express train offers a ‘magical round-trip journey to the North Pole’ and the commercial proposition was  inspired by the movie produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment and the book by Chris Van Allsburg.

Cube will be handling the PR, social media, marketing , media buying and digital and design work.

On the back of securing the 2013 business, Cube has added three new members of staff to its team: senior PR account manager Stacey Waugh and PR executives Aishleen Davies and Ellen Bradshaw.
