Channel 4 to launch Leeds-based short-form social channel Served

Channel 4 will launch a new social-first, short-form channel based in a specially built Leeds studio in May.

Channel 4 Served will feature content from creators across the UK, delivered from the newly built Leeds studio and focused on audiences on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

Offering specially-produced social-first, short-form recipe series that celebrate what the UK eats, plus its passion for home cooking, Channel 4 Served will feature content creator chefs from across the nations and regions including Birmingham and Lancashire at launch.

The channel’s content offering focuses on elevating home cooking with simple meals. Further details on talent and programming will be announced next month.

Channel 4 Served is produced by 4Studio, which is based in Channel 4’s national Leeds HQ and which was set up in 2020 producing quick-turnaround, digital content for Channel 4’s socials since inception.

Regionality is core to the proposition of this new channel, celebrating chefs and recipes from all of the UK. Channel 4 has partnered with Leeds based post-production outfit, Sticks & Glass, to create the new studio which will produce multiple shoots each week.

Sacha Khari, head of digital commissioning, Channel 4, said: “Channel 4 Served is all about teaming up with incredible creators to make original British food content that truly connects. Off the back of what we achieved with Channel 4.0, we’ve seen firsthand that when you put the audience first and work with talent who create content that feels real and relatable, amazing things happen. That’s exactly what we want to do again with Served – snackable, engaging, and scroll-stopping food content that showcases the UK, its people, and its flavours.”

Matt Risley, managing director, 4Studio, added: “Channel 4 Served blends 4Studio’s creativity and digital innovation, powered by our proven expertise in crafting compelling short-form content. Channel 4 Served aims to become the go-to destination for food and beverage brands to reach viewers through commissioned short-form editorial.”
