Sheffield Doc/Fest has announced a series of headline speakers for its 25 anniversary.

Presenter Guy Martin will talk engineering, big builds, speed and some of the Channel 4 documentaries he’s made with North One.

Other speakers who’ve been announced include Bafta-winning actor, Vicky McClure, who recently made Vicky McClure: My Dementia Choir with Curve Media and BBC One. An ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, McClure starred in Line of Duty, The Replacement and Warp’s This is England.

Also appearing is filmmaker, Mark Cousins, who’ll be hosting 30 Images in the Dark. His lecture will explore the aesthetics, politics, emotion and wonder of ‘looking’, through 30 key images.

“Vicky McClure, Guy Martin and Mark Cousins share the urge to tell stories born out of by their personal experience and expertise. I am thrilled to announce these exceptional Northern-based talents as speakers, whose deeply held convictions compel them to speak with authenticity and passion  through documentary film,” said Liz McIntyre, festival director & CEO, Sheffield Doc/Fest.

The festival takes place 7-12 June 2018.
