After more than a year Bauer given control of acquired stations

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has given Bauer control of the radio groups it acquired last year.

The CMA made Initial Enforcement Orders against Bauer in 2019, following its move for Celador Entertainment, Lincs FM Group, UKRD and Wireless Group.

That meant that the deals were placed on hold pending an investigation. This concluded in March, finding in favour of Bauer, with the report stating that it wouldn’t have to sell off any of the stations.

Today, the CMA said that it “considered it appropriate” to revoke the Initial Enforcement Orders.

“We’re looking forward to getting to know our new colleagues at Lincs FM, Celador Radio, UKRD and Wireless. We recognise that this is a challenging time for all our teams and will be connecting with them directly to offer support over the coming weeks,” said Dee Ford, Group Managing Director, Bauer Radio.
