BBC Sport has apologised after accidentally referring to Welsh rugby union player Jake Ball as ‘Jake Ballsack’.

The Scarlets lock was listed with the name on the team sheet shown on the BBC Sport’s website, which is based at MediaCityUK.

Team-mate Jamie Roberts spotted the gaffe and alerted the corporation via the below tweet.

A spokesperson for BBC Sport said: “We are investigating how this error occurred and the piece was amended as soon as it was spotted. We apologise for any offence that may have been caused.”
