Fluid Commerce, formerly Fluid Digital, has unveiled its rebrand and brough Rob Pimlott on-board to fill the newly created role of eCommerce growth strategist.

Fluid Commerce is an eCommerce growth agency based in Manchester and London working with online brands to build and grow successful online stores using Magento and Shopify. Having spent more than a decade supporting businesses with their online commerce needs, the agency decided it needed a new name to reflect this.

Adam Hindle, Managing Director of Fluid Commerce, said: “The time felt right to cement the Fluid brand with a name more befitting of an agency specialising in this growing, fast-paced and exciting market. We feel that Fluid Commerce delivers just that.”

At the same time, Fluid has appointed Pimlott, who’s worked in senior eCommerce roles at brands like Ellis Brigham and Inov-8 for more than 10 years. At Ellis Brigham, he was the national online manager for five years, doubling online turnover. At inov-8 Pimlott was head of global direct to consumer commerce, achieving 28 per cent sales growth in 2019 compared to 2018.

Commenting on his appointment, Rob said: “I’ve been lucky enough to work in eCommerce for more than ten years and have seen significant change in that time but it really feels like the market is progressing faster than ever before and causing huge disruption to traditional shopping high streets as it goes. It has never been more important that retailers have a strong online presence and I’m excited to be sharing my experience with clients of Fluid Commerce and guiding them towards growth.”

Hindle went on to say:  “It has been a worrying time for retailers recently but what has shone through for us is the resilience those who have grasped eCommerce have shown and in many cases, have actually seen excellent growth.

“The importance of eCommerce to retailers, at a time when the high street is struggling, is something that we’ve been speaking about at Fluid for some time but the coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus for the business community.

“[Our] rebrand coincides with Rob’s appointment which has strengthened our strategy service for clients. Rob has significant retail experience and will be working with our existing and new clients to ensure they are making the most of the potential ecommerce offers them.”
