Manchester arts charity, NOISEfestival has signed up a number of stellar names to curate online entries for this year’s event.
New creative talent is invited to submit their work, which is then rated by industry professionals in categories including photography, graphics, film, product design and enterprise. The winners are then showcased in a series of nationwide events and a select few are offered paid placements with a creative sector company.
This year, the curators include: fashion designer, Giles Deacon; games legend Ian Livingstone CBE (Tomb Raider); architect Sir Nicholas Grimshaw (Eden Project); Brian Eno; acclaimed cartoonist Gerald Scarfe CBE (Pink Floyd’s The Wall); i-D Magazine founder Tricia Jones; photographer Elaine Constantine; and arts broadcaster Tim Marlow.
“We are thrilled to have such inspirational role-models confirmed for the 2014 Festival. All curators had a real impact in their creative sectors. They are industry leaders, truly sympathetic to up and coming artists looking for their first break; and honest enough to share the ups and downs of their own careers,” said NOISE Festival, CEO, Denise Proctor.
“NOISE provides a real opportunity for emerging creatives, on the firm belief that success should be based on raw talent – not background, education, postcode, or family contacts.”
A call for entries closes in May and from this month, entrants are chosen to take part in a monthly webinar.
