Countdown to kick off in the Creative Cup

The rallying call has been sounded for the Creative Cup, undoubtedly the biggest gathering of the creative sector’s 5-a-side footballing talent this side of the Pennines.

Set up 4 years ago by freelance digital designer, Ian James Cox, it’s grown into a monster, with thousands of pounds donated each year to nominated charities.

“It’s testament to the success of the Creative Cup that it’s returning for a fourth year and this year we’re expecting to push past the £10k mark,” said Cox.

“This year’s event is after the summer holidays and it falls on a weekend with no Premier League fixtures, so we’re hoping for a good turnout. The event is a great get-together over football and beer; it’s something a lot of agencies look forward to.”

UKFast is the headline sponsor of the 2013 competition, which kicks off on Sunday 13th October at the Powerleague in Ardwick.

“We’re really excited to be involved with this year’s Creative Cup. Not only are we bringing together Manchester’s digital thought-leaders and boosting some healthy competition in the industry, we’re doing it all in the name of a great charity. We’re proud to be supporting such a fantastic event,” added CEO Lawrence Jones.

Kick off is at 12pm, although teams should arrive at 11.15. The entry fee is £95 per team, with funds going to the Alzheimer’s Society.
