Tangerine PR in Manchester has been brought in by Amir Khan to raise his profile ahead of a return to the ring later this month.

It comes just months after Mary Harding joined the agency from M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, where she handled talent publicity for the Bolton Boxer.

“Prior to my recent move to Tangerine, I had been working with Amir and his team for a number of years.  This collaboration sees Tangerine’s first move into talent PR and we’re thrilled to begin this development of our offer with Britain’s best-known boxer,” explained Harding, managing director of Tangerine’s consumer division.

“We’re looking forward to helping him increase his profile across a range of sports and lifestyle media, building his brand and increase his commercial appeal.”

The Manchester agency’s role will be to develop the sports star beyond the world of boxing. This will include offering strategic advice to help develop his commercial potential.

Former four-time world champion, Khan, fights on British soil for the first time in 2 years later this month. The bout in Sheffield will be a critical step towards regaining the light welterweight crown, which he lost to Lamont Peterson in 2011.
