Danny Boyle is working with Peep Show creators, Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong on a new Channel 4 drama.

The announcement was made at the Edinburgh International Television Festival by controller, Jay Hunt:

“I’m hugely excited to say this – that Danny Boyle is going to be directing a drama. A Sam and Jesse piece for us set inside the police, for next year."

Lancashire-born Boyle started out in theatre, but later moved into television, directing 2 episodes of Inspector Morse and BBC 2's Mr Wroe's Virgins. Meanwhile, writing duo, Bain and Armstrong made their names with Peep Show, but were also behind Fresh Meat and Old Guys.
