Joe McLusky, the former head of production (non-scripted) at Lime Pictures is to join Channel 5, to head up its in-house production team, 5 Production.

He’s been given a newly created role of senior director of production, reporting to COO, Paul Dunthorne.

“I am extremely proud to have been a part of Lime these past three years, working with Claire and Kate on shows as huge and successful as TOWIE and Geordie Shore, whilst also helping to launch new shows such as Educating Joey Essex and Young Free and Single: Live. I am thrilled to be given the chance to work at Channel 5,” he stated.

McLusky has been at Lime Pictures since 2013. He was previously a production executive at ITV Studios and also spent 8 years at Shine, latterly as director of operations and production.

He’s worked on programmes including Red and Black, University Challenge, the return of Surprise Surprise and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Superstar.

“Joe’s appointment will help us build on the breadth and depth of 5 Production’s current output.  His extensive experience across a range of genres will be invaluable as we deliver high quality, new original series, with broad appeal,” added Dunthorne.

He takes up the new role in August.
