Manchester-based micro-agency BrandXYZ has partnered with national law firm Glaisyers to launch a new AI policy service designed to reduce potential copyright infringement and legal exposure.
ComplyAI, a tailored AI policy solution combining AI industry knowledge with legal expertise, has been launched in response to recent research which has uncovered 82% of GenAI users have fed third-party content into prompts, often not realising they might be infringing copyright.
Other stats point to how 71% of writers have no idea if their company even has AI guidelines, and 95% of managers worry about the legality of tools like ChatGPT.

To bridge this gap, the new AI solution uses a simple three step process to simplify AI governance including: an ‘expert-designed’ assessment of AI use; industry analysis, identifying compliance gaps and legal exposure; plus a custom AI policy build around business needs.
Speaking about the launch, Jo Taylor, founder and director of BrandXYZ, said: “In the race to explore all of the benefits AI has to offer, some businesses are diving into it without sufficient structure or oversight, exposing themselves to significant risk.
“ComplyAI uniquely blends BrandXYZ’s deep understanding of current and future AI business use cases with the robust legal expertise of Glaisyers ETL. Unlike standard template policies or solutions that only address legal compliance, ComplyAI provides a tailored framework, enabling businesses, especially those without extensive resource, to confidently and securely explore AI’s full potential.”
Steve Kuncewicz, Partner at Glaisyers ETL, stresses the legal risks of operating without an AI policy: “Companies using AI without clear policies could be walking into legal disputes. From GDPR violations to IP conflicts, regulatory fines, and AI ethics concerns, businesses need to take compliance seriously. AI governance is no longer optional – it’s essential. ComplyAI makes it easy for companies to stay ahead of evolving regulations and mitigate risk before it becomes a problem.”
“AI Policy isn’t just a one and done though. AI is changing daily so regular reviews are important, organisations should be reviewing them on an annual basis.”
BrandXYZ was recently founded by Jo Taylor, the former Head of Brand, Marketing, Design and Digital at Transport for Greater Manchester.
