Jaywing has created a new senior role of chief creative director, which will be filled by David Wood, one its joint managing directors.

The Yorkshire agency explained that the new position was to “place significant emphasis on its creative work for clients and unify its creative offering across the business.”

It means that Wood will be responsible for the overall creative vision of the agency, taking a lead across both Jaywing and Epiphany’s digital, content and brand communications teams. Wood was a founding partner of Sheffield agency, Iris, before it was acquired by Jaywing in 2012.

“David is a seasoned creative consultant, who has over twenty years’ experience in design and branding,” explained Rob Shaw, CEO of Jaywing UK & Australia.

“This new role has been introduced to ensure that our approach to creative maintains and exceeds consistently high standards in the context of the ever-shifting sands of today’s multi-disciplinary, complex world, across our extensive offering in digital, branding and content. He is the perfect creative tour-de-force for this role that will see our creative offering go from strength to strength.”

The move follows last year’s senior “reshuffle”, which was intended to “accelerate growth and tighten operational focus.”

“Creativity plays a really strong part in our business and for our clients, and our creative teams produce outstanding work on behalf of many big name brands,” added Wood.

“My vision in this new role is to ensure our impressive creative credentials are integrated right across the business and to ensure free and bold creative concepts and design continue to flourish. I am delighted to take on this new challenge and am excited to build on our successes in 2016.”
