Liverpool Biennial has recruited Louise Garforth, a former senior exec with Marketing Cheshire as its new head of development and Carly Townsend, formerly with the Tate Liverpool as marketing and communications officer.
The eighth Liverpool Biennial festival is to take place in July 2014 at the same time as the International Festival of Business. The organisers claim that the Biennial is the largest international contemporary art festival in the UK.
Garforth joins Liverpool Biennial spent seven years with Marketing Cheshire (formerly Visit Chester & Cheshire) where was initially a senior manager delivering projects and latterly on the operational management of the marketing body. One major project she managed was the Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08 initiative.
Garforth said: “I started my career in Liverpool and am excited to be returning to work in a role that brings all of my skills together in a sector that I am enthusiastic about.”
Townsend joins Liverpool Biennial after four years at Tate Liverpool where she worked on regional and national arts marketing campaigns having previously been a marketing assistant at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
