Warrington-based Tactus Group has announced it has acquired Tamworth-based tech firm Box to accelerate its growth and boost its status as a global PC gaming specialist.
Online gaming and technology specialist Box, founded in 1996 by Mark Jordan, has a customer base across the UK and Europe.
Box scaled to become a £100m turnover business in 2021 and has a team of 140 employees, taking Tactus Group’s headcount to over 350.
The business operates from a purpose built 120,000 sq ft logistics centre, which Tactus said will significantly expand the scale of its supply chain and operations across the UK and beyond.
Tactus said the move will also provide it with additional capacity to accommodate the Group’s future growth.
It is the latest acquisition from Tactus in the gaming and technology sector, following the acquisition of UK gaming brand Chillblast in November last year.
