The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital has appointed Laura Wolfe, the well-known boss of the marketing agency Journey9, as its new charity ambassador.

Manchester-born Wolfe’s relationship dates back to 2006 when the charity was known as the New Children’s Hospital Appeal and was chaired by Maurice Watkins.

Wolfe’s eldest son, who was born with dextrocardia, received treatment at the Hospital and Wolfe was subsequently part of the team that delivered the final fund-raising dinner for the NCH Appeal which raised £200,000 on the night enabling the target £20million to be achieved.

Prior to setting up Journey9 in January 2010, Wolfe was the regional director of the Institute of Directors.

Wolfe said: “Working with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity is a both a pleasure and a privilege and I am thrilled to have been asked to become their Ambassador.

“I am quite sure that, by continuing to combine the strengths and knowledge of the Charity and the Journey9 teams, we will be able to continue increasing the fund-raising and profile of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity throughout the North West and beyond.”
