Meet the Manchester production house behind Mo Salah’s Egyptian Ramadan hit film

VELVET Film Productions’ latest project with Vodafone Egypt has been a resounding success, with the the film clocking up 68m YouTube views since it launched in the crucial Ramadan viewing window.

The project features Liverpool star and Egypt national team captain Mo Salah and was shot across various locations including Cheshire and the famous Salah mural at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium.

The campaign showcases Vodafone’s latest connectivity technology, and features Liverpool star Salah’s family alongside him.

In the film we see Salah and his wife Magi meeting as children in Cairo and follow their journey through a montage of family moments leading to their life in North West England.

Media City-based Velvet pitched against several other production companies to secure the project.

The company was responsible for servicing the UK element of the shoot, which included everything from locations to crewing, set design to photography.

Velvet is no stranger to working with big names and delivering content that resonates with a global appeal. This latest project adds to a body of work that features the likes of Wayne Rooney, Maya Jama and Christopher Walken.
