George Clarke headlines Urban Splash’s 30th anniversary newspaper

Regeneration company Urban Splash has concluded its 30th anniversary year with the publication of a newspaper featuring contributions from across the property, design, media, and creative sectors – including TV presenter George Clarke.

The piece has been produced by the inhouse team with the support of graphic designer Mr Matthews, and copywriters and PR consultants Cubed PR. Together they have written, published and distributed a 64-page edition of the newspaper, as well as a digital version accessible on the Urban Splash website.

The newspaper leads with an in-depth feature from George Clarke, presenter of Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces who said: “I have always been a massive fan of Urban Splash; while many of my friends at architecture school seemed to be hugely obsessed by architects, I was slightly too obsessed with what Urban Splash were doing.

“This was a brand that disrupted – with a rebellious attitude that I loved. They wanted to make change and transform urban environments to make neglected or abandoned parts of our towns and cities more exciting places to live. They loved converting old buildings into vibrant places for people to live, eat, work and play.”

Other articles come from Professor Michael Parkinson of the University of Liverpool; the President and the CEO of the Royal Institute of British Architects both contribute, while architecture journalist Josephine Smit provides the paper’s editorial introduction. Manchester-based PR Lisa Ashurst, KOMI Group – operators of one of the largest digital media portfolios in Europe – as well as branding and interior design specialists, NC Studio have also shared their stories.

Rachel Thomas of Urban Splash said: “We are proud to have collaborated with some of the most brilliant, design, media and creative minds over the past 30 years; our anniversary was a chance to capture their stories, and celebrate our many collaborations in creating new neighbourhoods across the country.

“Our thanks to all of the journalists, creatives, media personalities, designers and friends who’ve contributed.”
