Dining entrepreneur and food writer confirmed as Northern Growth Forum speaker

Nisha Katona

We’re pleased to announce another speaker for the Northern Growth Forum, in association with Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) – restaurateur, writer and former barrister, Nisha Katona MBE.

Businessperson Katona founded the Mowgli chain of Indian restaurants in 2014, which now has locations in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Cardiff and Nottingham. She is also the chair of the restaurants’ charitable arm, the Mowgli Trust, which donates more than £100,000 a year to local charities.

As well as being awarded an MBE, the Ormskirk-born CEO was named Wireless Social’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2018, placed at number 17 on The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 2018, and was named People’s Choice winner at the Maserati 100.

She will speak alongside Jonathan Warburton at the upcoming Northern Growth Forum next month – our morning of roundtable discussions, panels and talks on the topic of growth at AMBS’s Booth Street West location.

Nisha told Prolific North: “I’m very excited to be speaking at the Northern Growth Forum, because I know that at the stage at which I was wondering whether growth was even an option for my business, I would have given my right arm to have had forums like this that could enlighten and educated me.

“It is so important that entrepreneurs with big dreams are given these big opportunities to really understand the possibilities before them.”

The Northern Growth Forum, which takes place between 8:45am and 1pm on November 21st, will bring together business leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding growth, taking part in a selection of roundtable discussions. They will also hear from our high-profile speakers, Jonathan Warburton and Nisha Katona.

A complimentary breakfast will be provided, followed by the roundtables and speeches. The event will end with a lunch and panel discussion bringing together the topics of conversation that have arisen throughout the day.

The subjects of the component roundtables are Financing the North, Innovating through Tech, Communicating to the market, Recruitment, Retention & Apprenticeships, Health & wellbeing in the workplace, and Leadership & Culture. Those hoping to join us at the event can take part in two of these six.

Submit your interest to come along to the event, and share your expertise on a selection of the above topics. Since spaces are limited, we are asking for applications through the Northern Growth Forum event page.
