A nursery owner is using crowd-funding site, Kickstarter, to launch a new digital children’s brand, CanBe Owl.

Sarah Bellamy, the owner of Poppy & Jack’s Nursery in Lancashire hopes that the animated CanBe Owl could help early years children, nurseries and child-minders by providing resources for the home and classroom.

“Through digital technology, I can deliver one-to-one development and stimuli that will enable each child engaged with Canbe Owls to grow and develop their potential.  It’s an exciting concept and one that I hope the North West will help me bring to fruition,” she said.

The concept involves getting children to create their own owls and upload the characters online to see them travel “on their own digital journeys.”

She hopes to raise £2411 through Kickstarter and is already half way towards her target.
