The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors is investing £70k in digital technology and new ways of working.
The organisation, which is based in Sale, Greater Manchester, says the move its part of its ongoing “digital transformation journey.”
“This investment in digital technology is part of our commitment to our members, and members of the public, that they can enjoy complete trust in the civil engineering surveyors of today and into the future,” said Simon Hamlyn, CEO at the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES).
“Everything that people see around them has been built by someone in civil engineering. But the world is changing, and civil engineers’ ways of working are becoming increasingly digital, so as an international educational institution we upgrade with them and help them remain current with digital technologies, including through training and online resources.”
The organisation has today launched its redeveloped website and a new database for its 5000 members, including a new range of training modules.
Members will be able to access an online research library, they’ll be able to update their profile details and make payments and bookings. The general public will also be able to view publications and book events online.
“We have worked hard to build a new online presence which is fit for the 21st century and which gives our members the simplest route to their continuous professional development. It provides a comprehensive digital resource for professionals, students and related experts in our sector,” added Darrell Smart, Operations Director at CICES.
