Women in Film and TV to launch Northern network

Women in Film and TV (UK), the organisation for women working in the UK’s creative media sector, is coming to the North.

The launch event for the new Women in Film and TV’s northern network takes place on Tuesday October 20th at the University of Salford’s MediaCityUK Campus, from 6.30 to 8.30pm.

The University’s Dr Kirsty Fairclough-Isaacs will be speaking to prominent figures in the film and television industries on skills shortages and opportunities for women in the region’s media industry.

Speakers will include Cat Lewis, CEO of Nine Lives Media, Joanna Blake, development producer for BBC Writersroom, and Caroline Cooper Charles, head of film for Creative England.

The event, which is run in association with the University of Salford, is free to attend. Women in Film and TV is part of an international network of over 10,000 women worldwide.
