BHID Group, the Manchester-based bespoke furniture specialists comprising Neville Johnson Furniture, Neville Johnson Staircase, London Door Company and Tom Howley Kitchens, has appointed Vega to manage all planning and buying across publishers and newsbrands.
Vega has been working with BHID on SEO since early 2023 and brought them back to TV in June 2023, partnering with Channel 4 on multiple campaigns targeting contextual content across the C4 channel portfolio, an activity which has extended across 2024.
Press has been a core pillar of BHID’s marketing mix since the business launched over 30 years ago and they are one of the largest consistent newsbrand advertisers in UK with £2.2m spend in 2023 (AdIntel).
Speaking on the publishing opportunity for BHID, Vega Co-founder Jon Hall said “Challenges within print advertising have been well documented, with double-digit declines for circulation-based publishing while traffic and engagement for newsbrand websites have increased dramatically.
“We feel it’s time to challenge the conventional deployment of print investment and ensure we capitalise on all the touchpoints newsbrands now offer. Understanding how to reach and engage with ‘lost’ traditional paper readers who have migrated to digital channels is now a key challenge for legacy print advertisers like BHID.
Vega actively encourages a closer dialogue and relationship between clients and media owners which helps to unlock new opportunities to provide a greater return on investment for clients and help drive digital growth for newsbrands.”
James Tomlinson, group head of marketing at BHID, added: “Traditional press has always been a core part of our marketing strategy. However, we see the increase in digital press subscriptions as an opportunity for further growth, and we are delighted to be working with Vega to explore investment in this area.”
