Karen Hughes has been promoted to creative director at True North as the Manchester agency revealed a 60% growth in revenue in the last year.
Hughes, who joined in 2010, steps up from design director. She’s worked on branding projects for the likes of Wellcome Collection, National Portrait Gallery and Sport England and will now work as creative lead with a number of high profile clients.
She said: “I am looking forward to being part of the continued success of True North in what’s shaping up to be an exciting time for the company. We have great clients, interesting projects and a great team.”
Creative partner Ady Bibby added: “Karen’s played a key part in the development of True North over the past five years. Her creativity, commitment and sheer hard work is second to none. I’m delighted to be sharing the creative reins with her.”
Mark Mobbs, formally of Landor London, has also joined as account director, with the support of senior account executive Calandra Pavey, while Ami Guest has been named as the agency’s first brand communications manager.
The agency said it had won branding projects from the likes of NHS Lancashire and Manchester Airports Group in the first half of the 2014/15 financial year.
