Former BJL group account director, Lee Robson, has set up his own PR agency, which has already signed up his former employer, BJL as well as True North Productions and SharpFutures.

Previously PR associate director at House PR and a senior publicist at BSkyB, Robson explained that his agency would specialise on the creative, broadcast and technology sectors:

“I’ve been very fortunate to have worked on a wide range of incredible brands and campaigns with some fantastic agencies and in-house teams, and I’m looking forward to bringing the benefits of that cumulative experience to my own client base.

“Although Manchester has a thriving PR scene with many agencies for whom I have a huge amount of respect, I’m in a unique position to be able to provide a balanced B2B and B2C brand building background, combined with TV and entertainment credentials that are few and far between outside London.”

At BSkyB, Robson was the lead publicist for The Simpsons as well as launching Nip/Tuck and Ross Kemp on Gangs. He’s also worked on PR campaigns for AOL, The Huffington Post UK and Peugeot.

He will be doing trade and consumer PR for True North Productions and SharpFutures and will be retained on a consultancy basis by BJL.

“We fully support Lee in his decision to branch out on his own and wish him well in his new endeavour. We would like to thank him for his contribution during his time here with us and are looking forward to continuing to benefit from his communications skills and copywriting ability,” explained Nicky Unsworth, CEO of BJL.
