TalkSport is to continue to broadcast the Aintree Grand National after renewing its partnership with Racecourse Media Group.
Last year was the first time the world’s most famous steeplechase had been broadcast on commercial radio in the UK.
TalkSport will also expand its live on-course broadcasts this year to include the Epsom Derby, Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood, in addition to the Grand National and Cheltenham’s Festival and Open fixtures.
Racing correspondent Rupert Bell will again be at the helm of the station’s race coverage and live commentary from Aintree.
Liam Fisher, programme director, said: “Our coverage of the premier events in UK racing has proved extremely successful with listeners and continues to offer great opportunities to our advertisers.
“I’m really excited to be extending this agreement with Racecourse Media Group to continue to bring the very best races to air on the world’s biggest sports radio station.”
Racecourse Media Group, the parent company of leading horseracing channel Racing UK, manages the media rights for 34 of the UK’s leading racecourses, including Aintree, Ascot, Cheltenham, Epsom and Newmarket.
Director of marketing Clive Cottrell said: “We are delighted that the sport is receiving such an excellent shop window through TalkSport.”
