Manchester-based Sterling Event Group has unveiled a major expansion with a move to a new 102,000 sq ft facility at ICON Business Park, doubling the company’s footprint and supporting a 35% increase in headcount.
The long-established technical event production firm, which has worked with venues and agencies across the North for over 25 years, says the move will allow it to scale operations, invest in local talent, and support more complex event delivery across the UK and internationally.
Managing Director Richard Bowden said: “Our move to larger premises is more than an expansion in space; it’s about creating a collaborative hub where our team, clients, and technology partners can come together to further strengthen relationships across the events industry.”

The new site includes upgraded workshops, custom staging equipment, and a pre-production space for clients to trial and refine event builds. Sterling also holds a large inventory of professional-grade AV and production equipment, available both for managed delivery and dry hire.
Recent growth has seen the business expand its specialist team across project management, design, technical and support roles, with ongoing recruitment focused on the local jobs market. Bowden said investment in people will remain “a fundamental pillar” as the company grows.
Alongside the new HQ, Sterling has introduced a refreshed brand identity and website, marking what it describes as a shift from regional operator to a wider national and international role.
“Despite tough times for the events sector, we’re building on 25 years of excellence,” said Bowden. “Now is the right moment to scale our offering and build on the momentum we have in the North West.”
