CheethamBellJWT has restructured its senior management team and announced a name change to Cheetham Bell.

The restructure will see head of planning Steve McCarron take over as managing director, reporting into CEO David Bell.

Co-founder and creative director Andy Cheetham is to take on the role of chairman and reduce his commitment to three days a week.

He’ll be replaced as creative director by lead creatives Andy Huntingdon and Martin Smith, who will take on the role jointly.

The name change follows the rebrand of parent company JWT to J Walter Thompson to mark its 150th anniversary. Cheetham Bell said it would help it to “assert itself as the region’s most desirable and talked-about agency”.

New MD McCarron said: “We’re going back to the very essence of our brand – a commitment to cutting-edge creative work built on powerfully simple thinking.”

Cheetham and Bell originally launched the agency in 1992 and sold it to JWT in 2001. The agency, which works with clients including Soreen, Dreams and Victoria Plumb, has also moved to new premises in Castlefield, below.
