Prolific North has learned that Reach has restructured its Northern publishing division.

It will see its North Wales, North West and Yorkshire papers falling under the control of Carl Wood.

Regional managing director, Wood, confirmed that his remit now included Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, Manchester and Huddersfield.

He also said that Paul O’Halloran, who had been managing director of the Manchester Evening News and Huddersfield Examiner since 2014, has now left Reach.

O’Halloran had been at the company since 2010, originally as commercial director of Manchester Evening News.

Carl Wood was appointed managing director of Liverpool Echo and Trinity Mirror North West and North Wales in 2014. He succeeded Steve Anderson-Dixon, who became group managing director of the company’s regional titles across the country.
