Yorkshire cyclist, Olympic Gold Medallist and World Record Holder Katy Marchant was on hand to launch a new Yorkshire events agency with a mission to “redefine expectations and showcase the best of the best from the region” this week.
Yorkshire Z’Own, which is already creating havoc with spell checkers across the North, was created to celebrate Yorkshire’s finest —from small, cottage industries and creative talents to exceptional venues and hidden gems. The agency brings together some of the region’s most unique settings, exceptional talent, unforgettable culinary experiences, and distinctive activities to craft one-of-a-kind events for delegates.
Andrew Winterburn, director of Yorkshire Z’Own, said: “Yorkshire Z’Own aims to ‘redefine expectations’, both of the stereotypes associated with Yorkshire and the traditional concept of business events. Whether it’s conferences, meetings, or corporate incentives, our mission is to think and act differently, consistently surpassing expectations by introducing fresh ideas and talent from across Yorkshire.”
In keeping with the agency’s remit to find “the perfect locations and experiences [and] tap into the untapped beauty of the region to create experiences that are meaningful, memorable, and unfiltered,” for the launch select guests were treated to an unforgettable experience in the hidden, rarely explored areas of the magnificent Harewood House estate, just outside Leeds.
Guests were treated to a range of experiences, from foraging and cooking nettle crisps, seeing willow and iron sculptures be created, taking a ride in Bygone Classics famous Thunderbird and Mustang cars, to witnessing dance, poetry and art. As a fitting highlight, the event concluded with
Marchant, sharing her inspiring journey with the audience, followed by a fire and dine BBQ extravaganza at prestigious events venue, The Hovels.
Winterburn added: “Yorkshire Z’Own was born out of a deep love for this incredible county and all it offers the business community. Yorkshire is more than a place; it’s a community, a spirit, and Yorkshire Z’Own embodies that. Our foundation is solid, backed by a team with over 25 years of industry experience—all born and bred in Yorkshire.”
