This years shortlist for the Guardian Student Media Awards names individuals and publications from across the north that are in the running in most categories.
They include York battling it out with Newcastle for the coveted student publication of the year category as well being in the running for the student website of the year with yorkvision.co.uk.
The individual categories include two Sheffield students hoping to be named student reporter of the year as well as a University of Salford student competing in the broadcast journalism section.
The full shortlist for the 35th annual Guardian Student Media Awards was published here today and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 27 November.
