Leeds-based peanut butter brand, Mothernutter, has secured its first retail deal, with Selfridges.

The company was founded by Cumbria-based Victoria Seymour during lockdown, after her dad bought a roasting and blending device and stored it in their garage.

Seymour then enlisted the help of digital marketer, Thierry Ngutegure, who’s just joined Salt, and photographer and creative director, Tom Joy to build the Mothernutter brand.

She also brought in Cumbrian chef, Jake  Winter, to lead on the flavour and recipe development.

“Mothernutter is a brand with character for people with character, encouraging people to stay true to themselves and “Stay Nutty!” said Ngutegure.

“We see this same ethos embodied within Selfridges, which is what makes this partnership so special and one to keep an eye on”.

The company launched with its flagship Crunchy and Smooth flavours, and then introduced Its ‘Ultimate Jam’ flavour earlier this year.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be stocking our range in Selfridges, and to be giving even more people the chance to try our peanut butter and jam flavours we have worked so very hard to get right,” added Seymour.

“We can’t wait to continue to spread Mothernutter’s message to celebrate and protect Mother Earth.”

10% of Mothernutter’s profits are donated to environmental causes, which are chosen by the public.
