The second series of Paul Abbott’s No Offence has begun filming in Manchester.

Channel 4 has ordered 7 more episodes of the drama about an “unorthodox” team of Manchester police officers.

Headed up by DI Viv Deering, (Joanna Scanlan), it also stars Elaine Cassidy, Alexandra Roach, Will Mellor and Paul Ritter.

This series they are joined by new boss, DS Christine Lickberg, who’s played by Sarah Solemani (Him & Her, Bad Education) and office manager Gavin (Conor MacNeill).

“No Offence is a joy to come back to. The world seems a much safer place set against the organised chaos of inspector Viv Deering’s world. With the limited resources at her disposal in a community shredded by gang crime, Viv’s mantra for her staff: ‘The least you can do for me is your very best.’ And they will,” explained Paul Abbott.

“Series two will build on the celebration of teamwork in the British workplace. Against all odds and underfunding, Deering steers her humble team to high achievements.”

The 7 x 60 minute episodes will air in the Autumn. It was commissioned by Piers Wenger, Channel 4 head of drama. AbbottVision are producing, with Abbott the executive producer, alongside Martin Carr. Simon Meyers is the series producer, while Catherine Morshead with direct the first block of episodes, with Sarah O’Gorman taking up the role for the second block.
