Nicola Stout, head of HR across all of the BBC’s news operations in the North, has joined Lime Pictures in Liverpool as its new head of HR.
Her appointment is one of several recent changes within the management team at Lime in recent months.
Lime, which is owned by All3media, reported its latest figures today showing a 20% rise in turnover last year to just shy of £59m.
Lime employs around 500 staff across its Liverpool production base and a growing administration and post-production facility in London.
Stout began her career as a graphic designer with the BBC in 1983 where she remained for nine years before deciding to change career and after a spell back in education, she joined Safeway as a personnel officer in 1993.
Various roles followed, most notably eight years with McCann Manchester, initially as head of personnel when she joined in 2002, before being promoted to ‘people director’ in 2003.
She joined the BBC in March 2011 as the HR business partner for the News Group North where she had responsibility for the HR delivery across all news programming coming out of the newly-established BBC North operation. News programmes included BBC Breakfast, TV and Radio Current Affairs, Radio 5Live and BBC North West which included TV and radio across the BBC’s three regional stations in Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.
A highlight for Stout was the work she undertook on the formation of the first integrated news operations team responsible for both network and regional output.
She told Prolific North that she was: “Delighted to be joining Lime Pictures.
“It is thrilling to be working for a company with such a great heritage and reputation for award winning programming, at such a dynamic time, as it grows from strength to strength. It will be great working with Claire and Kate who both appreciate the benefits of a commercially focussed people strategy and I’m looking forward to supporting the management team with its growth plans.”
