Newcastle agency launches social commerce platform

Newcastle’s Sugarcoat has released a social commerce platform aimed at small businesses and independent sellers.

With the “no-code” solution, they say that a seller can get a storefront up and ready for sales within minutes, without the need of a website.

“Our goal is to create a seamless shopping experience that makes ecommerce easily manageable, without the need for sellers to update multiple platforms or maintain a full website,” explained Rob Mitchell, Founder and Director, Sugarcoat.

“With Sugarcoat, businesses and independent sellers alike can reach wider audiences and streamline sales in a cost-effective, time-efficient way. With no technical experience required, no website necessary and pre-configured social integrations, we hope to make it easier for brands to manage and scale their business.”

Social commerce is the fastest growing ecommerce channel and is expected to make up a third of online retail sales by 2025, worth $2.1tn

Mitchell and co-founder, Jonathan Butler believe their platform will make it more accessible for small vendors.

“We’re changing the narrative that you need a website to sell products online. Our goal is for independent sellers and small businesses to see the opportunity of selling through social media and take advantage of the shift to social commerce seamlessly, without hassle,” added Butler.

“With a self-serve approach, we’re proud to say users of our platform can get set up and sell in just a few minutes. We’re really excited to be part of this fast-growing change in the way brands sell online.”
