Myprotein founder launches AI-powered nutrition tool from new supplement brand

The Manchester entrepreneur who founded Myprotein has unveiled an AI-powered tool that creates personalised supplement regimens based on individual health goals, dietary needs and budget.

Developed for his latest venture, Verve, the tool, called VerveSmart, is designed to simplify what entrepreneur Oliver Cookson describes as an “overcomplicated and opaque” supplements market. The browser-based platform generates three-tiered supplement plans using data provided by the user.

“When I launched Myprotein in 2004, we pioneered UK e-commerce and shook up the entire protein industry,” said Cookson. “With VerveSmart, we’re creating that same level of disruption in personalised nutrition. This isn’t just another product recommendation engine – it’s a fresh use of technology to make personalised supplement regimens accessible to all, not just the affluent.”

The tool has been trained in-house with input from nutritional experts and uses a conversational interface to guide users through the process without jargon. It matches suggestions to Verve’s product range, which includes items such as Transparent Greens, Eclipse Duo and Naked Beauty, all marketed with full ingredient transparency.

Nutritionist and Verve ambassador Rosie Millen added: “What sets VerveSmart apart is its foundation in expert nutritional knowledge combined with its ability to create complete supplement regimens. People who invest in supplements often don’t know which ones work well together or if they might be doubling up.”
