Monday Moves: Democracy PR, Lakestar McCann, UKFast, Frontier PR and more

Each week, Monday Moves collates all the recent job-related news on Prolific North, as well as running through all the new opportunities on our job board.

On the appointments front this week, Intermarketing Agency in Leeds has made two significant additions with former head of design, Paul Phillips, and Rich Gell of McGrath Rainey Laird becoming creative directors, while also in Leeds, there were promotions for three senior search marketing experts at Branded3.

Another major signing came at Manchester’s Join the Dots, which has brought in Steve Watkins from Leo Burnett as research director, while Richard Blamire, formerly of Euro RSCG Riley and The JDA Group, has taken over as managing director at Cheshire agency First Internet.

Toby Chapman, once assistant editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, has seen his role within Trinity Mirror extended to a new position of group development editor.

There’s also now a vacancy as Everton’s communications director following the unexpected departure of Alan Myers on Thursday.

Over on the jobs board, Democracy is on the lookout for not one but two Account Managers. You’ll face some competition though – the agency claims to receive 50 applications for each position and you’ll have to get through psychometric testing in order to be successful.

Lakestar McCann is after a PPC Manager to work on a portfolio that’ll include clients from fashion, retail, travel and motoring sectors, while UKFast needs a Creative Designer with an “irrepressible creative streak” to work on everything from a supplement in the Sunday Telegraph to the company’s own website.

Agency experience is essential for anyone applying for the post of B2B Account Manager with Manchester’s Frontier PR, while some previous dealings with the construction, environment and housing sectors is desirable.

PR folk with a year’s experience may be attracted by the PR Account Executive position offered by One Marketing Communications in Manchester, working with both B2B and B2C clients, and the same agency also needs a Social Media Account Manager with a minimum of two years’ experience. You’ll have “advanced social media monitoring software” to play with, so long as you’re results-driven.

A Lancaster-based digital agency needs a Key Account Manager who is “always on the lookout for new techniques and approaches”, while a South Lancashire digital business has a vacancy for a Digital Project Manager, preferably Prince 2 qualified. Benefits include flexi-time hours.

Still in Lancashire, there’s an opportunity for a Senior PPC Executive with a “market-leading business in Wigan”.

Ever thought of working for “one of the nation’s most ambitious and dynamic organisations”? Now you can, should its Senior Data Analyst role appeal. You’ll be heading up a new team of analysts and only individuals “of the highest calibre” need apply.

A rural equipment brand is looking for an “experienced” Brand Manager to help launching a new range into the market. The role could expand territorially, so a European language is “advantageous”.

Finally, there’s the post of Creative Designer going at a design agency for whom the ability to react to rapidly changing briefs is essential. An in-depth understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite is an “absolute must”.
