Liverpool-based games studio Mechabit is celebrating the worldwide release of new game Kaiju Panic after support from the Greenshoots funding initiative.

Greenshoots, administered by Creative England in partnership with Microsoft, invests £25,000 into individual studios and also provides business development support and mentoring to smaller firms, as well as access to Microsoft schemes such as ID@XBOX.

After initial development through Greenshoots, Kaiju Panic is now on Steam Greenlight and will be released worldwide at the end of August through Steam and Xbox One.

Kevin Tsang, chief executive and lead developer at Mechabit, said:  “Greenshoots has been instrumental to opening doors for us and accelerating our expansion onto the Xbox One and other Microsoft platforms. We would not be this far this soon without their help.”
