Music has created the record artwork and poster campaign for cult Manchester poet ARGH KiD’s first record release.

The new single, Frank, is described as a “perfect example of gritty, inner-city pub-toilet-sink realism”.

Music’s artwork is intended to depict the “stark truth of modern Britain”, and will be accompanied by a poster campaign throughout Manchester.

Phelim White, designer at Manchester-based Music, said: “For the main imagery we used a broken bottle in the shape of a crown to darkly symbolise Frank’s position of ‘king for the day’.

“Working closely with ARGH KiD has been great, we really enjoyed the creative process with him. ‘Frank’ is by a new Manchester legend but also features drummer Steve White who is legendary for working with Paul Weller. We look forward to seeing ARGH KiD continue to do great things.”

ARGH KiD added: “I love the artwork for ‘Frank’ as it is witty but very much reflects the depressing reality of the highs and lows of broken Britain. The smashed bottle image in the shape of the crown perfectly sums this reality – king for a day!! As an artist it’s incredibly difficult to find someone you trust that can take your thoughts and put them into reality, Phelim and MUSIC have proven to have the talent to do this to great success. Nice one.”

Frank will be available to download and stream from 26th October.
