Danish weight management clinic, Embla, has appointed Essential Content to support its UK launch.
Lee Flanaghan, Global Brand Marketing Lead at Embla explained why it had turned to the Manchester agency as its UK PR partner:
“We’re looking at a new frontier for treating obesity and helping people achieve lasting change. But there are obvious challenges too. The Essential Content team were committed to understanding that challenge and helping us respond, while also setting out a vision for helping us grow the Embla brand in the UK.
“The agency has a track record of working with businesses in regulated sectors and are alive to the challenges of regulatory risk and compliance. They understand the ‘boring, but important’ stuff as well as outlining a compelling roadmap for brand growth.”
The clinic, founded in 2021, says it combines “doctor-prescribed medication, coaching and digital support to enable lasting lifestyle change.”
“We’re also determined to help Embla lead the charge against the significant market challenges that already exist, specifically the approach to prescribing, and the downstream supply chain issues,” explained Becky Newmarch, Client Services Director, and Sean O’Meara, Managing Director, Essential Content.
“Embla have identified these challenges and are determined to educate as many people as possible, without ‘nagging’, about sustainably pairing medication and lifestyle change for weight loss. We want to help Embla promote healthy, sustainable weight loss for everyone who wants it.
“There’s already a lot of noise and misinformation in the media about weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, and with their bank of experts and medical professionals, Embla are perfectly positioned to address that problem. Our agency philosophy is ‘talk about what you know, not what you sell’, so working with Embla gives us the perfect opportunity to prove our case for that approach to comms.”
