Apple TV+’s hugely successful Slow Horses is returning to screens for Season 5 and a rising Leeds star is set to join misfits of Slough House for what is shaping up to be a messy affair.
Yorkshire’s own Nick Mohammed is set to join the likes of Gary Oldman and Scotland’s own Jack Lowden as the smash-hit spy thriller prepares for the launch of its fifth season this autumn.
The Leeds-born comedian and actor, best known for his BAFTA-nominated role as Nate in Ted Lasso, will appear as a guest star in the upcoming season, which premieres globally on Wednesday 24 September 2025. Apple has also unveiled a first-look at the new episodes, which promise more of the biting humour and bungled espionage fans have come to love.

Based on London Rules, the fifth book in Newcastle-born Mick Herron’s acclaimed Slough House series, the new season puts tech misfit Roddy Ho in the spotlight after he turns up with a glamorous new girlfriend. When bizarre incidents begin to unfold across London, it’s up to the team of disgraced spies to connect the dots hopefully without blowing anything (or anyone) up.
Mohammed’s addition brings another Northern name to the acclaimed ensemble, which already includes Kristin Scott Thomas and Saskia Reeves. It marks the latest high-profile role for the Leeds Grammar School alumnus, whose profile has soared on both sides of the Atlantic.
The six-part season will kick off with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly episodes through to 22 October. And with a sixth season already confirmed – featuring Lenny Rush and the return of Hugo Weaving – Slow Horses shows no signs of slowing down.
