Leeds’ HubRx appoints senior duo ahead of automated pharmacy launch

HubRx automated pharmacy new hires

Leeds-based HubRx has appointed a Chief Financial Officer and Operations Director ahead of the launch of its automated pharmacy hub.

Matthew Tollefson joins the company, headed up by CEO Daniel Lee who is also the founder of Pharmacy2U, as Chief Financial Officer. He joins from Leeds-based corporate finance firm Sentio Partners and has also held positions with Mazars, Ernst & Young.

Joining as Operations Director, Karl Wooldridge has held previous key positions with Phoenix Medical Supplies and Lloyds Pharmacy.

The duo will be part of HubRx’s plans to launch the new hub for independent community pharmacists, which the company revealed in 2020 is a multi-million pound investment set to create 100 new jobs.

The hub plans to free up prescription dispensary time for around 200 independent community pharmacies from a 40,000 sq ft automated facility, located at Logic Leeds Business Park.

Matthew Tollefson (pictured, left) said: “Joining HubRx was an offer I could not pass up. The pedigree driving the business is second to none and it’s a true example of disruption to make a positive change to the lives of pharmacists and patients.”

Commenting on his appointment, Karl Wooldridge (pictured, right) added: “I’ve joined the business at an exciting time – we’re on the cusp of launching something truly innovative and game changing.

“HubRx is pioneering, our approach will transform community pharmacy. We’re investing in cutting-edge technology to create an automated dispensing hub that will create capacity for pharmacists, allow them to grow and expand their skills.”

CEO Daniel Lee said: “We’re delighted to welcome Karl and Matthew to the growing team at HubRx as we move ever closer to opening the first state-of-the-art automated pharmacy hub for independent community pharmacists.”
