KOMI Group has appointed a Los Angeles-based Senior Vice President as it seeks to grow in North America.
Nick Jennings joins the Manchester digital media business from Jellysmack, where he was Director of YouTube Strategy, working on strategy for the Law & Crime Network. He’s also held senior audience roles at Collab, focusing on YouTube and TikTok; and The New York Times creating YouTube and Facebook strategies.
“It’s rare to find a media company with KOMI’s level of innovation, execution, and long-term vision. I’m thrilled to be working alongside Sam and Andrew, continuing to build on the momentum of the impressive growth they have achieved with KOMI so far, whilst maintaining a sustainable platform-agnostic model,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the creator economy, and KOMI Group stands at the forefront of the next evolution in media and entertainment. There’s significant growth potential for KOMI in the US across several areas and I’m looking forward to further strengthening our strategic relationships and raising our visibility to become a recognised leader in the creator economy.”
In the new role, Jennings will drive the content strategy across platforms and “identify new monetisation opportunities to maximise value for KOMI and its influencer talent.”
He’ll also have a key role in mergers and acquisitions at the firm.
“We have already had a fantastic year of growth with no plans of slowing down. As strategic acquisitions continue to reshape the media landscape, our expansion into the US and focus on connecting with American audiences will further strengthen KOMI’s global digital footprint,” explained Sam Lenehan, Group Managing Director at KOMI.
“Nick has a deep understanding of the digital media space, the creator economy and the US market. His expertise makes him the ideal person to help drive the next phase of our international growth as we continue building the world’s most engaged digital audiences.”
KOMI’s team of 120 now manages a portfolio of more than 40 social media brands, generating more than 4 billion monthly views and engaging 150 million followers around the world.
