Laudable is a collaboration between Reach, JPI Media and podcast platform, Entale to develop regional audio shows. In March it received €500k from Google’s Digital News Innovation Fund.

Gow says she’ll running the project for the “foreseeable future” and will be recruiting 3 journalists to work alongside her.

Initially the project will focus on the North West, West Midlands and Scotland. The brief will be to create “bitesize briefings”; investigations; campaigns; and in depth features on national issues, with a local angle.

JPI and Reach will combine forces on series and standalone pieces of audio.

The project is expected to go live in the Autumn.
