Alison Gow, the Digital Editor in Chief of Reach, has been seconded to run local news podcast platform, Laudable.
Laudable is a collaboration between Reach, JPI Media and podcast platform, Entale to develop regional audio shows. In March it received €500k from Google’s Digital News Innovation Fund.
Gow says she’ll running the project for the “foreseeable future” and will be recruiting 3 journalists to work alongside her.
Initially the project will focus on the North West, West Midlands and Scotland. The brief will be to create “bitesize briefings”; investigations; campaigns; and in depth features on national issues, with a local angle.
JPI and Reach will combine forces on series and standalone pieces of audio.
The project is expected to go live in the Autumn.
